FTTx - Fiber Optic Connectivity Technology

FTTX is all about the last letter that defines the final place. FTTX is a whole family of fiber-optic technologies designed to provide optical communication. FTTX allows you to bring broadband Internet to the house. With the help of FTTX, you can conduct a telephone connection in the house, FTTX also makes it possible to enjoy digital television broadcasting. "X" is the point that determines where the optics reach. FTTX can reach a network node, a building, FTTX can reach a group of houses, or FTTX can reach a house.

The FTTx family includes various types of architectures:

*FTTN (Fiber to the Node) — fiber to the network node;

*FTTC (Fiber to the Curb) – fiber to a neighborhood, block or group of houses;

*FTTB (Fiber to the Building) – fiber to the building;

*FTTH (Fiber to the Home) – fiber to the dwelling (apartment or separate cottage).

They differ mainly in how close the optical cable is to the user terminal.

FTTB – Fiber-To-The-Building, literal translation reads: "optics to the building". That is, FTTB refers to the technology by which communication reaches the structure. FTTB involves a network of approximately 200 subscribers, that is, an apartment building. A huge advantage of FTTB is its simplicity and ease of building additional networks. FTTB is reliable, and this has long been proven.

New technologies are easily superimposed on FTTB. In FTTB, a minimum number of subscribers is connected to one device, which can significantly reduce the level of interference.

FTTC – Fiber-To-Carb, which means "optics to a group of houses". FTTC is the most affordable technology, it was with FTTC that the design of optical-coaxial networks began.

FTTC uses a coaxial amplifier, so it will always be cheaper than fiber communication. The cost of installing FTTC is much lower than the optical network. Therefore, the FTTC mounts the optical network to the cross on the street, and the copper cable leads to the FTTC houses.

FTTC is a unique technology with a low cost.

FTTH — Fiber-to-the-home, "optics to the home". FTTH is a technology that conducts optical communication right to the house. It is thanks to FTTH that we have the opportunity to use the wide-cavity Internet.

FTTH has a high bandwidth and allows you to achieve good speeds. FTTH allows you to use the Internet, telephone and television through one port. At the same time, FTTH preserves your privacy, because a password is required to access the network. It is impossible to hack FTTH or listen to it. In addition, FTTH is physically reliable, as the optical cable does not rust.

FTTH – super speed to every home!

FTTN — Fiber to the Node, "optics to the network node". FTTN is one of the first communication technologies. Currently, FTTN is used as an economy option, as it does not require a large amount of costs. If the cable infrastructure is developed on the ground, then FTTN simply connects the optics to the network node.

Now FTTN is used only in distant areas, where it is too difficult to stretch the optics. FTTN is the most inexpensive type of communication, but also the slowest. However, FTTN provides internet connections to many homes, although there are already more modern and effective analogues of this technology!
